Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born 18 November 1985. She was born in Los Angeles. Felix's father Paul Felix is an ordained minister of the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. Her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix's ability to compete in athletics was evident as early as the day she started attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Felix finished second in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships, in just 10 weeks after her very first tryout. Felix got a contract to pursue professional work with Adidas in 2003, and after that she enrolled at University of Southern California to study elementary education. Felix's debut Olympic medal was won at the 2004 Summer Olympics, in Athens Greece. Felix set the record of world juniors for the 200m race in 22.18 secs. She was the youngest world champion in the 200m in the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007 beating long-time Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix participated in her first Olympics during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo regularly placing in the top three of her events.
